Ahhh--model railroad engineers--my favorite kind! O gauge or O27, or HO or N gauge---or maybe LGB? I had a preference for Lionel O27 myself. Never made a layout at my house--but at my buddy's, he had two 4'X8' tables of HO. We went there after school just about every day. But then we turned into teenagers and had no time for that "nonsense"! I eventually went back to making model buildings from scratch as an extension of my architectural drafting classes in high school. I kept on doing it until I finally got tired of building them and then putting 'em up in the attic to wait for that day when I finally did build a layout! So, now I carve--much easier and more fun--and I don't have to put 'em up in the attic!!

I use a good quality high back office chair, with all the height, back and seat controlls, with arm rests. The wife bought two for me a while after my accident, so I could be more comfortable on the computer and while carving. They were expensive ($500 each), but worth it. For scroll sawing, I built a stand to hold the saw and fit it to match the chair for height. I built in foot rests into the stand and it works perfectly. It looks like he**, cause I'm a terrible carpenter, but it works fine! Bob

Ok to all of you who replied! I am searching again for that stool/chair. I took a second look at the wooden one that I use in my craft room upstairs and even it has possiblilities. All I need is a set of rollers that I could get at Home Depot (as soon as the snow lets up---I don't go out of the house much in Winter.) I thank all of you. Diane
