Default The PERFECT stool/chair/barstool with a back stool for Scroll Sawyers

I want comfort,a place for my feet, on rollers and a pneumatic controll for raising and lowering. Does anyone have some suggestions? Make and model would be helpful and maybe free shipping? That's not as important as it must be sturdy and hard to tip over too. Thanks

If you'd prefer to spend less money, take a look at this one: http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/store...ts=15564*15654

I bought one of these at IKEA and have used it quite a bit.

Don't forget to check ebay if you find a model that you like. This is always an option to save money.

I like Hi_Ho's idea. Have been joking with the wife about getting one....she hates the idea and that makes me bring it up more often...

Since I have been sitting on drafting stools for the last 20-some odd years, I can offer a little bit of advice. DON'T SPEND THAT KINDA MONEY!!!!

Check the office supply stores--sometimes they have older models for half price or less. Two years ago, one of my co-workers was tired of waiting for a new drafting stool, and stopped at Staples on the way to work. He walked out with two demo models for the grand total of $40!

Engineering companies have a weird habit of opening up field offices and leaving their furniture behind! Check with used office furniture places. TIf they don't have anything, ask if you can leave a name and phone number for them to call you when they get one in. The drafting table I use along with the other 20 or 30 scattered all over New Jersey are all used--for at least the last 26 years. So, if you're good at bargaining, end up in the right place at the right time, you'll get a stool that'll last you a long time. BTW--Mine has a date stamp of Jun 1973 on it. A little tape here, a few new bolts there, and it's still rolling!

Bob, aren't you glad we (engineers and consultants) buy such expensive chairs and leave them for you...after all this is one of the few things engineers are good for...

Well my new friends, you have given me the right direction again and I thank you. I WILL start with the USED condition first. About 27 yrs. ago I bought a Sears "scratch & dent" Whirlpool refridge. It's still in my kitchen! I have a winter coat that was a present back in 1965. Still wear it, it's still in style, I've relined it 3 times. Is that frugal enough? By the way, I gave up on trying to load a blade in the old Delta, so I ordered a new one (pluse a little drill press) through Amazon.com. It'll be here in 5 more days and shipping was free and the price was over $10.00 less than other sellers. I'm on a roll my friends! Diane

Engineers make mistakes all the time just look at the (red line) notations on their drawings.

I am a Project Controls Consultant by the way, but I used to be an engineer ... when I had a model rail road.
