Default Peach pits

I've just gotten into wood carving and have tried my hand at making large kitchen spoons and have had some success, but my real question lies in something much smaller. Years ago my grandfather mentioned that he knew someone who carved peach pits into monkeys and I was wondering if anyone here has tried that, or could recommend a place to start. Any advice would be most welcome.

There have been several posted here relatively recently. Go up to the green bar, click on Search, then on Advanced Search. Enter in the keywords "peach", "pit", "seed" and you should be able to find most of them.

That link for carving just monkeys was excellent, thanks a lot. I think I've got one that looks somewhat like it should, I'll try to find a camera and post a picture.

Look forward to seeing photos of your pits. I've got an album "Uncle Wiskers' Carved Pits" that has some in it, if you'ld care to take a look.
