Default painting on wood

thank you very much !!! i am in the proses of painting my first face its kind of fun to learn as you go !!! i had a near disaster trying to even up the eyes when i realized i had better stop!!! i bought acrilic paint by van gogh i dont know if its available in the states it comes in tubes,i asked for a color that nears the skin tone and they sugjested a color named naples yelow red or otherwhise named jaune naples rouge its nice but i didnt realy listen to the guy when he told me to thin it out with a azo yellow lemon . i am thinking to mix some up and lighten it up so that i can go over certain spots on the face to give it some blemish!!! what do you gus think? and i also got this varnish caled vernis a vieillir agein varnish by lefranc & bourgeois but it has no instructions on how to use it !! ANY TIPS!!!

Make a practice piece (or two) and try the paint on that before using on your "final" piece. Nothing like trial and error for learning.
