I have seen caricatures carving done in more then one piece. Like the arms torso legs and head where done seperate. I was just wondering how you get these pieces together so that it is not obvious. I have seen many works on this site that were amazing....and i always wondered if it was done in one piece or many pieces. Is there somewhere online I can go to see how the process works?

Its funny because he was one of the person I was refering to. His pieces are amazing and gorgeous. I was just curious on how he got those pieces together. he does not explain the process on his site. I'm sorry but he does explain some of his techniques on his site....... Quote:

Short of my standing behind you telling you what to do I don't think my Blog could be more descriptive on how I do my figures. Check out the Chuckwagon Cook project or the Cowboy's horse. It's all there. I'm going to be starting a new generic Cowboy soon where I'll go through the entire procedure once more.

If only I was that lucky to have you standing behind me guiding me...... First I want to state that I think your carvings are amazing. I did go thru your blog and yes you do explain things pretty good. I aspire to carve like that someday in the future(My mouth to Gods ears). I hope you can keep up your good work for many many many years to come. I am so looking forward to your next project. Quote:

| I may get shot for saying this but you can use filler to hide the glue joint (if you need it) and you will find that you will be using less filler as your carving skills improve. I use 5 minute epoxy for the glue because it does not need clamping, just hold it in place for a few minutes and that's it and Kulis Karvit for filler because it's less likely to chip than quickwood if it is applied very thin.
