Default Noggin Spoon

Has any one ever carved a "noggin spoon" I'm not sure of the name or the spelling, but it's a wooden spoon cooks used to wear on a cord around their neck to taste soup etc while cooking.
How about butter paddles?

noggin spoons, were used up through the 1700's they were used by cooks but were mostly used by slaves and backwoodsmen and were tied to there belt or sash they were used to eat out of and drink out of.there is a book called carving in the swedish style with several designs and patterns in it you can make your own pattern easy enough i make one that looks like a turtle shell and the handle is his head and neck i made one for a friend on after i messed up on the head i cut it down and made his tail they are fun to do i finish mine in peanut or olive oil .if you can not find the book let me know and i can copy the patterns for you and send them to you or i will look to see who published the book.can't remember right off where i got it

Dave is the book your talking about carving swedish wooden ware with Jogge Sundvist? Or the one by his dad Willie Sundqvist, I cannot think of the title of this one at the moment. But if it is one of those, I know they are both out of print. I have been trying to find one for months and the cheapest I have seen a used copy is $75.
