| | Re: Newbie just saying hello Welcome to an interesting and very helpful site. I would say there isn't a question that goes unanswered here. You might get several different opinions but That is good Also. There are more than one way to carve. May I suggest, That the new carvers do is but a Carving glove. Saves a lot of injuries and blood letting. Makes good sense buying protection. A good dust mask is a must as there aare breathing problems if you don't.
Welcome again and have fun, ask questions! |

| | Re: Newbie just saying hello Welcome aboad Pal--you found the best carving site indeed. There sure are alot of good folks here, and it is for sure that every question will be answered. Pick out the ones that make the most sense to you. Take your time and let your own style develope. Just as there are no two carvings that are the same, there are no two carvers that are the same.

| | Re: Newbie just saying hello Welcome Chizeler,
I'm sure you will find many helpful and interested and interesting people here. I would sugest that you connect with a local carving club if at all possible. I recently found a carving club relatively close to me(within 20 miles) and found them to be a great group...1st things 1st though, I agree with Kenny_S...buy and USE a carving glove. Unless a lot of your carvings are gonna be painted red...LOL!
