| | New to the Msg Board Hi Everyone, I'm a relatively new carver about a year. Have been looking for some good sites. I stumbled across this one today. Really enjoyed the msg board conversations. It's nice to have a place to discuss carving with others who enjoy the same hobby. I look forward to participating on the board.

| | Re: New to the Msg Board I realized early on that a good glove was necessary! Also some type of thumb guard.
I mainly do caractures, about 20 so far. I haven't put a finish on any of them yet, just done the carving part.
It looks like you guys have some good questions and answers

| | Re: New to the Msg Board Welcome Cut Fingers!
This is a great place to learn more about many different aspects of carving--and make new carving friends, too. And along the way, you'll enjoy a laugh or two. If you've only been carving for a year and have 20 finished carvings, you've already learned a thing or two!
It's great to have the resources of MANY carvers from around the world. I sure wish this had been around when I started carving 14-15 years ago and was struggling to find anyone who could answer some of my questions.
Anyway, Cut Fingers...and we've all had some of those... we're glad you're here. When you get caught up, read back through the old postings. Just about everything you wanted to know about carving is here.
