Default new carving knife

Good morning ladys and gentlemen,
Im a happy chap today,my day off work and my new flexcut detail knife arrived this morning.Not been carving long, and just been using a stanley knife. having made a few spoons.I now want to have a go at a wood spirit.Dont have a camera at the moment so cant post pics.Have to see what santa brings me this year.Anyway of out now to find some wood to practice on.

Good evening everyone, well it is here in the uk
Thanks for the wellcome and words of encouragement.Carved my first wood spirit yesterday with my new knife, and i dont think it turned out to bad.Well not to my standards anyway.I think me and my flexcut are going to get on well together,That is i have not drawn any blood yet.

Welcome, Chris, purchasing and using a kevlar or a kevlar with steel mesh glove on your non-knife hand would be a good idea. Saves regular visits to the hospital. Please note such gloves although cut resistant are not cut or stab proof.
