| I am new and would like some advice on what i need to get started. I would like to do some relief carving and some 3-D Animals too. I look at Rick begginer set. I was thinking abought get a Dremel also what is your guys avice? You might want to hold off on the Dremel. If you decide that you love power carving, then there is a good chance that the Dremel will ultimately prove to be too limiting for you. I own a Dremel and find that it doesn't reach the rpms that I need to get the smooth powerful cuts that a Foredom power carving machine can provide. If you still want a Dremel then I would recommend talking to someone at a carving store. They can show you what type of bits you will probably want to use, so that you can ensure that your Dremel has adapters for the various bits you want, as well as a flexible shaft.

Rick's beginner set absolutely. It even includes a knife, glove and thumbguard. I love mine. micky |
