Default Never too old to learn!!

When sitting with a bunch of carvers last week one of them mentioned a trick I'd never heard before but I had the chance to try it today and it was amazing.

If you, I mean when you, get the next cut or nick from your tool, sprinkle it with black pepper and it will coagulate immediately. Well I tried it today and low and behold it worked, no stinging like I got from a steptic pencil, and the bleeding stopped before I finished sprinkling the pepper on.

Live and learn.

Very cool tip. I would have thought it would sting also. Thanks for sharing this with us. Paul

Sounds as if it would be worth a try . I would rather sneeze than bleed .

I'll have to try that out. Now if I can just figure out how to sneak the pepper shaker out of the kitchen without the wife seeing me...

Glad to hear the black pepper works for you....
Super Glue keeps me from making a mess with the ketchup or taking a side trip to the ER....then most of my misses are OOOPPPSS!!! rather than "nicks"...you know, put the tool down carefully and grab for a pressure point......

Interesting tip. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks!

During the summer, I use yarrow. It grows right around the house here but it's a pretty common plant everywhere. Just mush up the leaves and apply to a cut and it works great.
