Default My wizard!

I'm not going to claim this was my first attempt. I have several false starts that will never see the light of day. Everything just seemed to come together on this one. I know it isn't perfect but I am pretty proud of it. Smile

Special thanks to Tom H for his help and encouragement and to Gene for his videos.

Looks darn good to me Becky! You did a nice job. Don't feel bad, I have a lot of bad starts like you did. I don't worry to much about it except when it's a good size piece of wood but so far only one of those... heck it's just wood. Congrats!

Way to go Becky, you will not believe how quickly you'll be able to crank those out in a few months time. Heck, I've been at it a year now and I can sure see a BIG difference in my now work to my earkier pieces. You did fine on that one, just keep going girl, you'll be a pro in no time.

Thanks for all your kind comments. The "wizard project" was my first attempt to carve in the round. I started with a couple of reliefs as carving on only one side of the wood was less intimidating.

Then when I saw the video, Gene made it look so do-able I just had to find the instructions and try it. Tom H helped me there - and then some!

I am nowhere near doing it in 5 minutes. I bet that took close to three hours just to carve, lol. But I got a tremendous sense of accomplishment and I had a ball doing it.

There's another one in process now. I learn a little more with each try so it's all good.

Thanks again for your encouragement. I am having so much fun doing this.
