I wish I had saved a few to look at. We were doing craft shows back at the beginning, and the 'primitive' stuff really sold. So, looking back, I have none of my first stuff.
I do have anything that I did in a class, and though some of that is rather primitive, it is not my very first.

Thanks Coffee, I did date it and sign it. And My wife fell in love with it. It is now sitting on the mantle. Hehe I can't beleive it took me 25 years to do something she likes.

Thanks Hi - Ho. I saw a couple places where I miss cleaning up a couple of cuts, but my wife told me If I touch it she will break my fingers now.

Wade , not this one. This is from the blanks that Goody is sending. The wood was great And his instruction was very very helpful. But the one he gave me for the Christmas Santa I will finish with paint. This one I really want to see the wood. It really is something. If I had stained it It could have eaisly been taken for White oak, or Sasafrass.

For everyone that is on the list of 25, your going to love this wood. I know I sure do, holds detail, and doesn't chip. It will do short break outs but nothing like a pine. Cuts a lot like butternut, really just a very nice wood.

Goody
The more I did with this the more I wanted to. I have come up with a really special design for the Christmas Santa. But I will not start cutting it until you get everyone set up. Perhaps you should pick a date for everyone to use to post the finished Santa's.
And Yes , I'm hooked.
LOL

Ash that is really great and your first carving I am really impressed. I would put my first carving on here but I would hear the laugher south of the boarder. Yes I agree sign and date it and for sure keep it I kept that funny thing I first carved in fact my daugher laid claim to it she loves it.
