Default My first "decent" carving

My profile picture is my first "official" carving not having a rough out or plan to start. I got the idea from whittler0507 on youtube he is an awesome teacher. I am working on 2 more wizards now. Then I am going to try the cloaked santa.

Thanks for reading
Rick

It feels good when something finally "clicks" and makes sense, like getting your eyes cut right. Keep practicing and you will have more and more of those "clicks" and your carving will both improve, and be more fun as well.

I like your wizard too R.R.

I also carved mine using Gene Messer's video tutorial. He is a good teacher isn't he?
I like his choices of projects too. They keep me interested.
I am working on his Bear from a block of wood now. It is a fun one also. Give it a try.
I already did the axe too. It is a good one if you want to carve something quick and rewarding.

Keep up the good work and keep posting up pictures too.

Good job, Rick! I like the little fella. You've been bitten by the bug now, so it's gung ho all the way.....keep carving, and the more you carve, the more you won't want to put your knife down. Bonnie
