Default my first

I was a wood Virgin..until now!
After meeting some great people at a carvermeeting I just had to get some steel in wood and produce something.

It was done with just a knife, some cheap thing I had and then sanded it down and painted it.

It is kind of a cartoon style pig, like my drawings.

i find it interesting that some folks have the initiaitive to go forth and create. doesnt look like he broke anything off ( i did on my first ones) its good and a style of its own--i dont think it needs necessarily to be improved. the carver may wish to change (improve) his piece on the next one, or he may not-- i have a good friend who carves santas, i dont care for the style-- but its his and its unique-- he even took a class from stu martin and his face didnt change. this pig is fantastic and as a starter piece i think its phenomenal.

keep carving

Hello and welcome, Viking. It's good to have you here and to see you've already got one carving under your belt.

Good carving.

Very nice! If you can illicit some emotional reaction in the people that see your work then it is a success. I chuckled out loud at your cute little pig.
