Default my copy of Claude's snowman pin

I finally finished carving and painting 8 snowmen that I carved from an old Cedar shingle. I must say that using Cedar as my very first carving medium ever was not the best idea, but I only had to scrap my first two snowmen.

I attached a picture of one of the 8. I don't think I will be using Cedar again anytime soon.

Hi Mike,

I don't think you did too bad on the snowman at all. I wouldn't give up on cedar so quickly if I were you.

I think you did a good job on the snowman. I haven't tried cedar yet but intend to experiment with it. In one of my carving books I recall they said pencil cedar was a good carving wood but I have never heard of it anywhere else maybe someone here knows it by a different name

Claude,

Maybe once I finish a couple other projects with Basswood I'll return to the Cedar to make the Santa pin on the left in your picture. I have about 20 more Cedar shingles left. I made 8 snowmen out of just one shingle.

Thanks,
Mike
