Default My 1st Santa

Hi All,

Well here it is...my first Santa carving complete as far as carving is concerned.

you can see it at http://community.webshots.com/user/chahlie

My next project is to try the same pattern only in bass wood, I got the pattern transfered to a piece of bass wood and will start carving as soon as I complete a few 'HoneyDo's'.

I am interested in comparing the way the laminated poplar carves to the bass wood. It ought to be interesting.

Hi All,

Thanks for all the encouraging comments...yes I do intend to paint the Santa...My lovely bride has aided me in that respect, by the fact that she works in a Picture framing/art supply shop...so I got all my paints for $.44 a bottle. now just finding a few hours to paint him up proper!
