Hi Leonard. I've never carved moose antlers but it looks to me like you're on the right track. As for critique, I can't tell what that is under the moose's head and the taper is off on the big tree. the rest looks real good though.Keep at 'er.

Thanks. thats supposed to be a couple of evergreen trees in the distance and the large tree is supposed to be an old rotting tree

Lookin' good, only I like the looks of ones done "upside down" from yours, the tines upseem to give them a floor or ground area, then points to the sky. Only my thought. My wife & I both like it! |

Looks very professional to me. A heck of a lot better than my first projects. My wife looked at it and couldn't believe how creative it is.

![]() Not a bad carving at all. You might try thinning out the branches of the large tree in the foreground. Don't worry too much about the inverted taper, a tree that is badly rotted will sometimes look like this just before it falls over. I like the positioning of the bear and moose. If you can modify the bear slightly so it has the humped shoulder of a grizz, it will look like the bear is getting ready to have a moose dinner. Overall, a good project! |

Thanks everyone for the comments. I am just using a cheap rotary tool for the carving. Hoping to get a Foredom sometime soon. I live in Newfoundland, Canada, lots of moose. I harvested a 14 point bull this fall about a half mile from my house. Heres another couple pics of my most recent creation, this one being right side up or is it upside down? Ha ha

I thought about carving a moose antler, but I really don't think I am up to making that critter hold his head still!
