Default Little shavers knife set

I just ordered the littleshavers beginner knife set. I'm just woundering what to look forward to. It looks to be a very nice starter set. It's hard to beat 6 palm gouges, a bench knife, carving glove, strop,& more for $55 + shipping. Just woundering what people that have or have used them think of them.

I am very new to carving, after reading some post on the carving set I bought one. Was not disappointed. Here are some things I made with kit. I my opinion for a first timer It is great. Don;t forget to use glove and thumb guard.

They are really sharp when you recieve them and they hold an edge well. The kit also comes with a strop and compound, and that's all you'll need to maintain the edge on them. That's the best thing about Rick's sets, the sharpness. Nothing will turn off a new carver as quickly as trying to carve with dull tools. I highly recommend the sets.

I ordered it the first of the week. So I was just looking to see what people that have them thought about it. I so ready to get it in and give it a try.

I think you will be very happy with the kit, plus Rick will resharpen for free anything he sells. If you just strop your tools every 15 minutes or so you should not need to sharpen them for quite a while. Enjoy your new tools. And please wear the glove and thumb guard!
