| | Little Shavers beginners kit Hello all,
A friend of the families has expressed an interest in learning to carve. I was wondering how the little shavers kit does from those who have purchased one. The price on this set looks to be really reasonable. Any number of others on this site have referenced this kit and I've heard no negative comments but I'd like a bit more confirmation before I order it. Do the tools hold an edge well? Are they well made? Having purchaed one, would you reccomend it to a friend?
Thanks,
Dan |

| | Re: Little Shavers beginners kit Dan, please be reassured, Rick's kits are great. They are good quality tools, well sharpened and the kit contains everything a new carver will need to begin. I have arranged for over a dozen of these kits for members of a small carving group we have here and all are very satisfied with the tools and their results. I don't sell them for Rick, I just encorage new carvers what to purchase to help them get started.

| | Re: Little Shavers beginners kit 3 weeks ago I encouraged my cousin to buy them for the same reasons 'squbrigg' and others offered. He did and he asked me to carve Shawn Cipa's santa from the latest Woodcarver Illustrated. I used his tools just to show him he could do it and how. They worked good. I stropped them real good a few times and drove on for 10 hours over two days. They are a good intro to carving along with the glove, strop, strop compound and knife in a wood box. A very good offer for a biginner.

| | Re: Little Shavers beginners kit Hi Dan,
I bought the Little Shavers kit and I can whole heartedly recommend them. I am a total newbie to woodcarving but this kit has been great for me. It came with all I needed to get started (except the wood and the spare time ).
The ordering process could not have been easier and the kit arrived in less than a week.
Two big thumbs up from this end. .

| | Re: Little Shavers beginners kit I purchased three of them last Christmas for my Grandchildren couldnt have been more surprised. The quality of the tools was excellent the price affordable and if you are buying from Rick you always count of the tools being as sharp as you can get them. I have been dealing with Rick and Theresa for many years now and may I say they are probably the best and most honest business people I have ever dealt with. Great people with great service you cant go wrong I guarantee Colin |

| | Re: Little Shavers beginners kit I bought one of these kits and was thrilled the first time I used it. The tools are so easy to use. There is even a strop with compound that I am learning how to use. Included is a glove and a thumb guard.
They're well-made and VERY sharp. Just ask my thumb. So wear your glove. I'd be happy to make a commercial for this kit.
