Smile just getting back to it

Hi everyone I am very new to this forum, I first got the carving from my uncle, I was amazed at what he could with an ordanary piece of wood. One day when I was at his house we were in his shop and I asked if I would make a good carver, he told me you won't know til you try so he helped me with my first carving knife(which was a utility knife with a stationary blade) and first project, which by the way was angel, I still have the angel and I still use the knife. I hav since bought a regular carving knife and other tools that make it easier to carve.
Thanks for having this site.
John
