Default Interesting Articles

I would like to ask for some suggestions for articles to include on my website. Â* I already have 'Sharpening question and answers', 'Making a razor knife' and 'Forging a knife blade'.

I am currently working on a step-by-step article for carving one of my Christmas ornaments, but I would appeciate suggestions from carvers on other information they would like to see.

I took your advice for my July sharpening class in Montana Â*
(beginning with the most basic of information) and it went very well.

Thank you, Rick

Rick, I'd like to see your catalog online, that's where I do 99.9999% of my shopping. About the only time I go to a store is when I'm in the middle of something and reach for ... and it's empty!

If you need a shopping cart program, there are many free ones available check out http://www.hotscripts.com or you could setup an account with PAyPal and use their shopping cart system and credit card system.

As far as articles, I'm sure many would agree a good detailed step-by-step (with photos) on carving faces would be excellent!

Randy,
Several times people have told me I would make more money if I had a shopping cart catalog online.

I am working to put my catalog online, but it will not have online purchasing.

There are enough impersonal catalog sites out there.
I prefer to speak to my customers even if it's my nickle.

Perhaps I am a bit old fashioned and set in my ways, but that's how I see it.

Thank you for the face idea.

That's fair enough Rick. It's hard me me to take the time to look through a catalog (it's a book )

How about a monthly book review (something you stock of course). As for putting your catalog on line - Kind of reminds me of the English gentleman who owned the bar where I used to play darts. Father (we called him that), you need a bigger parking lot. His answer - If I had a bigger parking lot I wouldn't have anyplace for the customers, the place is already full.

I second the idea of a book review on line - one per month. And give it one to four stars - four stars makes it a 'must have' for your bookshelf, on down. Put in the review what level of carver the book would appeal to. Some books work great for a beginning carver, but have limited appeal for more advanced carvers and vice versa.

I don't see a problem with showing the goods on site, but not having a shopping cart. But it would be nice to have an idea of what the associated shipping charges are that you have for the orders. It lets me know if I can afford smaller orders or have to accumulate into a larger one.
