If you could only own one knife what would it be. I want to upgrade my "no name" blade. Thanks! Desi |

Wow Desiknow thats a really tough question for a newbie... I'd have to say that the little Hock detail knife is my absolute favorite, but the more I use my two Drake knives, the more I like them...in fact, I'm picking up two new ones I recently ordered from Gil & Bonnie Drake this Friday and can hardly wait... I also love my Flexcut and my homemade Warren knives...really a tough question... I guess all the 'Old Timers' are right when they say, it's not the knive, it's the person behind the knive, but...I still love each and every one of the ones I currently own and can't wait to try out a new one, maybe a Valley Forge, or a Mike Shipley, or a Rick Ferry, or a ..... sooooo....good luck on any of your new knive purchases...as long as thier scary sharp and laying on your work bench, you CAN'T go wrong!!! Ha! Have fun and enjoy that's really the important thing...collecting and using them is the next!!! Kenn

My favorite knife changes every week... Some knives are getting better with time, some don't. Some need work to get better, some need to get used to. Right now I use 2-3 knives for every carving I do. A Deep Wood Ventures for roughing out, a Mike Shipley for slicing, and a Tomz for the rest of the cuts. Gilles |

Mobjack where did you get that I would love to have one of those to . But seriously I love nearly every knife I get in my hands .I think more important is the sharpness of the knife once you figure that out any knife will work for you .
