Default Hottest wood burner

I am trying to find a craft wood burner that gets hotter than the normal 950 degrees. I've made a special tip out of brass, but the tip is not getting as hot as the regular tips that come with the tool. I'm guessing it's because the tip is large compared to the normal tips, but still looking for a way to make it work. Also, is there another metal that would work better than brass?
Thank you,
JR

According to Thermal Conductivity of Metals the best metals for heat conductivity (k) are

1. Silver (k=235)
2. Copper (k=204-223)
3. Gold (k=182)
4. Zirconium (k=145)
5. Aluminum (k=118-144)
...
Tungsten (k=94-100)
...
Brass (k=64-92)

Silver is likely too expensive, and it's pretty soft; I'd suggest Copper...

Thank you Claude. We're going to see if we can find some copper angle to try.
I really appreciate your help.

You might also just buy a foot of heavy copper wire down at the home improvement store. Easy to hammer into the rough shape you want, and then finish the shape with a small file. I used to do this for new tips for my soldering pistol all the time - I think 10 gauge was the size wire I used.
