Default Home made carving vise

Does anyone have any ideas on making a good carving vise. Is there one that is general purpose that one can use for power carving, chip carving ect. ect. I own a Z-vise if anyone is familar with this vise,is there an attachment for carving for the Z-vise.

Here is the Z-vise site http://www.advmachinery.com/default.asp?pg=zvise

There are a couple of articles for making some clever looking carving vices in some of the back issues. I don't remember the issues they were in but I bet that if you check the Article Index to the left, you'll find them.

Do a google for the "Poor mans vise" also there is one made of a trailer ball....I made both and they both work. I also have a panavise, which I actually use more than any of them.
