you can try ebay, but because of your laws and regulations they may get stuck at your border, the next best thing is to see if you can buy a digital copy, alot of magazine companies offer these. or if you have family else where they can send it to you. hope this helps. cheech |

You have internet access, P ost your work world wide, A perfect way to exhibit your Carvings. As for having a book on wood, you can use the internet to access tons of information on wood and wood carving. As for us guiding you, I think you have the power to do that yourself. Good luck on your carving adventures.

SOO. I live in Australia not the USA like most members here. But my impression of some of your posts suggest to me that we might be having a bit of a communication problem. Are you posting in English or are you using a translation by the computer. If you are using your own English then I think you need to understand that because of different countries individual personalities, what you wrote and understood, is not what one from another country reads and understands. Their are many understanding and sharing people here. We all get frustrated , especially beginners and in your case I suspect no beginner but a person frustrated by the condition he finds himself in and is crying out for help. One thing you need to understand , it is not considered good etiquette to join a forum and then demand some answers. You have to gradually, be accepted by everybody, much the same as we do when we meet new people in person. To be able to help you, and I know, from the help I have been given, you will get it too providing you ask politely as you can the specific things you require. Remember, most of the guys on here are just carving for a hobby, talented as they are. That is why they are so freely giving of their time. Peace Pete Last edited by STAR; 01-06-2011 at 09:19 PM. |

First off, don't use all caps (ABCDE). Considered rude by a good many people. If you have the time and your own computer, you can search the internet for the books you are seeking. Just do a web search. Since relations between the two countries are what they are, your government may not allow anything from here to go through and vice versa. You can Google woodcarving books and find a world of information that way. If Iran is not like China and will let people do searches. Try this and see if you can find what you need, then we can go from that point on. Also, everyone associated with this group will more than likely be willing and able to help any way they can. Good Luck!

Soo.... You haven't told us much about yourself so we have no idea whether you are a beginner, an intermediate, or an expert carver. If you are a beginner or an intermediate there is more that enough material availabe free on the internet. All it takes is a little patience and time to do the searching. There are all kinds of patterns available. There are pages and pages of information available on tools and sharpening. And there are even free pictorial and video tutorials available. Much of that information can be found right here on the Woodcarving Illustrated Website. Just search through the forum archives for whatever you are looking for. If you're looking for something in particular send me a PM and let me know what you want and if I've got it I'll email it to you.
