Any chance of cutting another nail nick on the other side of the blade with a cut-off wheel ? Or is the secondary blade too close on the pile side ? I had to do this to an older Schrade where the blade broke off (almost in half). I just made the nail nick look like a long pull.

Hey Big Barn, there's an idea. I'll check it out. The fact that I ground off too much of the knife, shows that I don't always plan ahead. And the fact that I didn't think of the other side of the blade shows that I some times don't even think. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just keep a dime in your pocket. It's the cheapest knife opener you can get (unless the groove is big enough to use a penny).
