Default Happy 35th Anniversary honey!

with the 35th happy anniversary pending here within the next month, (i always forget!)

and my wife having some interest in wood carving, but never enough time to stay still enough to trust her with a sharp knife...

so after returning from the doctors yesterday, and him announcing she has torn 3 or 4 ligaments and the minicuss(sp) in her knee, she will be still for a bit healing up,,
sure i feel her pain am sorry for her, but thinking of my preservation during the healing up period. (she is the worst patient! i ever cared for..)
this morning she mentioned a children's carving book she seen in this issue of wci while hunting the fox.. and how she wondered if there was easy projects in the book for her to do..
i gave her a few back issues which contained wci spring 2008 issue, after a few moments she announced ill do the birdhouse pg 64. stylish birdhouse.

well thinking ahead a few months ago while on ebay i bought a 4 tool set of walnut hollow palm tools for her after she carved a ball in a cage "just to show me she could"...

well quick thinking i put together a basic set of tools for her see picture attachment..

a pretty handled crawfish/dolphin shaped straight razor knife i made a pin file detail knife a part roll of veltrap my vinal and stainless steel knit glove, the 4 palm tools, and a box of band aids. in a wood box i got from Micheal's and wood burned a old louisiana swamp cabin scene on...
and announced happy anniversary honey!

she said yer a might bit early ain't ya!....
i said yep, but i first thought birthday which is in july i think...?

never the less quick thinking got me the credit this year....
hope she dont catch me asleep and use them on me....,.

Congrats on 35 years. The boss should be happy you remembered, even if it was a little early. She still has a little training to do huh?

Hey Thomas! I really hate to say it, but you all made the right decision on jumpin the gun. Fellers as ol' as you have to act on somethin when you think about; or risk the thought dissappearin from your mind. Happy doctorin, and carving.

Happy Anniversery! What a neat, sweet thing to do! Thomp, I think you have set a fine example that all men should follow! Not nessecerely (sp) the tools, but just remembering and getting together the tools for something she expressed interest in! You were really listening to her! I'm sure part of it was to keep her out of your hair, but what the heck! That's probably why my husband encourages me to carve and get tools, so I'm not babling on to him all the time.He seems to love it when I go into the spare bedroom to carve or sew and shut the door! I guess this is the sort of thing that goes into having a long happy marriage!!!Pretty crafty my friend! Congrats and I hope your wife gets better soon.

Congratulations Thomp. I'm coming up on number 41 and still think it was the best decision I made in my lifetime. May you both celebrate many more together!

thank you for the reply's folks,

but if id a married her first it would have been 40th this year, guess were allowed one mistake....

i think we will get along as long as she stays on the current pain medicin, percosette (sp), cuz if she takes one within a half hour shes possum grinning.. and i got to show her to the bed......

Sharron,
this is the first present ive got her in all these years that she has agreed with me getting for her, usually i wear out a power tool like router or skill saw that i need to complete a money making job with and she gets put off.. but guess were compatible... think ill keep her...
