You tell him from me, that's fantastic! I just love that you and your grandpa are carving together. It's so special now, but it will be even more so later on in life. My oldest grandson, Buzz (12) and I are going to carve together this summer when school lets out. I'm really looking forward to it. Real Cool, Toffeliz and Gramps!

well grandad said he'd been wanting to give carving a shot for a while - he's been a builder/joiner all his life. He's been really useful in telling me what tools do what

We don't carve in the same room so much as we'll both carve seperately and then look over the results together . I used to be in his garage all the time when i was little though lol. Hope Buzz makes some great stuff I'll keep my eyes out for the posts!

We call Grandma "Grumpy Gran" even though Grandad is more grumpy than her! He's 69 this year, so you have the head start on him. He's already on his second carving and is so enthusiastic about everything.

We're having trouble getting some limewood, so we're using whatever we can stick together. This is some oak he had and I think he treated it really well, especially considerig that he gave me the good tools and used these cheap tiny ones he got in the market. He gave one to me and then asked for it back becuase they actually sharpen up pretty well.

I'll be sure to pass the comments on ASAP guys! he's on holiday in Scarborough at the moment and apparently it's chucking it down
