Default Got my Beginners set today....Comment!

As I have said before I turn mostly, and when I opened the box from Rick, Little Shavers, I can't say I knew what sharp meant until that moment....sorry...Damn!...I sharpen my turning tools and they cut wood, but this is sharp....I got great service and fast delivery, and I will do business again with Rick, although none of you don't know this already!....IF you read this Rick, tks....I hope one day, I will be able to make a mirror edge....maybe you have the pointers on sharpening?....tks again...Dennis

P.s. Rick what do you sharpen with...Hand or machine!

if you can find an old knife with good metal in it.you can practice sharpning on it before you go at your good knives.there are many ways to put an edge on with a stone, some people {like my dad}go the intire length of the stone a couple of times and he can put an edge on it that will cut your finger off if it hits itand some other people use little circles {for lack of another word to sharpen it. all i can say is to practice, practice, practice and it will come

good luck
ron

Dennis,
Thanks for the nice comments.
I sharpen by hand on a "Burke" sharpener (no jigs or fixtures).
(nothing up my sleeves) as Bullwinkle used to say.
