| | Golf Ball Carvings I just found out that you can carve the inside of a golf ball. I have read the great tutorial posted by Gene on this topic.
Can anyone that has done a golf ball carving post a picture of it on this thread for me so I can get my eyes full? This might be something I'd like to try.
Thanks! |

I really like your golf ball carvings. Thanks for the pictures and for the web site link. I checked out that guy's carvings. He does good work! (My favorite was the lady bugs)
I tried to respond to your PM, but your mailbox is full. You must be very popular! |

| | Re: Golf Ball Carvings Thanks Dianna, there also is a lady who carves them, but I can't find her website. She airbrushes her carvings also and that's a whole other talent. Her's are the best I have ever seen.

After I got the top part/the cover off,it took about 2hrs from carving and painting it then I had to add the cherry base. Its the only one Ive carved but I hope to have several carved in the next few months for my last show in Oct.

| | Re: Golf Ball Carvings Titleist used to make wound balls that had rubber band in it. I use what they call a 2 piece ball, it has a cover and a solid core. Brand wise pretty much all of them make a 2 piece. I use mainly Topflite, but that's because I have a bunch of those. But that don't really matter most of the lower end balls are 2 piece. You'll know right away if you have wound ball, those rubber bands pop out the sides real quick.
