Default Fun with Jack Price

I can't carve again just yet but I thought I would share these pics with you. I had carved, painted and antiqued them before cutting myself and was able to add the props and stuff with just nine fingers.

This one was for a co-worker who is a major Steelers fan. You aren't getting a side view because the arms are pretty dreadful. Didn't matter to the fellow I gave it to though. He loves it. Maybe because I put his name on the back of the jersey. All I had to do was add the faceguard.

I gave this one to another co-worker who lives to fish. He goes fishing almost every weekend in the summer and then comes back to work on Monday with those "raccoon eyes" from his sunglasses. This last summer he also decided to shave his head so he wouldn't have to worry about getting a haircut. Yikes! I had to make ears!

I know these aren't up to the standards of some of the other things posted here (and why I keep posting in the beginners forum) but I was pretty happy with them. If you have suggestions for improvement, I am all ears.

Awww...Becky you should have told us that you carved them with just 9 fingers!

I think you did a great job, and I"m sure your coworkers will love them!

Becky, you may never be satisfied with what you carve, but I bet your friends wouldn't part with them. They are very good. Hope you get back to carving soon. I bet you already have the next piece of wood picked out.

Looks good Becky and I like those raccoon eyes I have them during the summer time when we fish everyday. Thank you for taking your time to share them.

Becky; they look great to me as well. We are all too hard on ourselves when we critic our own work.

Keep hanging in there you should be carving again soon.

I agree with you, Becky - they're not up to the standards of a beginner on here; they're actually quite a bit better. That fisherman is very well done!

Becky, I think you did a great job on both ! Hope the fingers is healing quickly. Only problem I see is the Steelers player should be a Jets player, LOL
