 Finished Toucan I found this pattern from one of the sticky's. I'm not sure if I am going to paint it or leave it the way it is. Anyway this was a small block I had from a sample bag of wood that was 2 1/2 high be 1 1/2 wide.   |

| Re: Finished Toucan Is this one of your first carvings? you've got a cute bird going here. I wouldn't change a thing on this one. I always tell people to save their first carvings. You will be glad you did. I would start adding more detail to your work, as you feel more comfortable. What a great project to get started with.

| Re: Finished Toucan Yeah I started this with just a bench knife so it took me some time to get it done. I'm thinking of doing another one, but roughing out the shape and using my new gouges. I was really happy the way this one came out but now that is done I see where I can do things a little different. |
