Thank you! It is made of red oak from home depot. I like the wood grain. I'm going to find some walnut and cherry for my next ones.

I was just thinking the same thing, Mark. Very nice piece, rz. If that is your first piece, I can't wait to see what you produce when you have been at this a while..... If you want to try something a little different material, get some tagua nut and make some pendants from that. It's the seed of a palm tree and is the closest thing to ivory in texture. It is hard as a rock though. I have seen some really nice jewelry made from it. Some wood carving suppliers sell them. |
