Default Figure proportions

As a 2D artist I have always used some tried and tested measurement. The head is 5 eyes wide and 7 eyes long and 7 eyes deep. As for the figure I have always been satisfied with the body being 7 and a half heads tall. In 3D however - a few more measurements for the human figure are needed. Like the side view for instance - how many heads thick is a body? Does anyone know of a blog or a website where I can get this information. Thanks

Strotis

Exclamation Re: Figure proportions

Hi all,
we have a little PC Program, that shows the proportions for men, women and childs .
For figures from 10cm to 30cm (4 - 12 in).

I's programmed from a Carver and it is availabel for free!
The Progam is written with Microsofts .NET and you need Framework 4 (free downloadable from MS).
The Link is: http://www.hobby-schnitzen.de/Download/anatomiesfx.exe and yes it is an .exe-File .
The programmer has decide to compile it so. Sorry. I've tested it with 3 Virusscanners and it is without viruses or Malware. Runs under Vista, XP and Win7.

Best regards from Germany!
Thomas

I work as Computeradmin and i know about the risk.
Sorry, that he makes it as selfextracting .exe File. Most users are afraid to download this.
You can Download it and check it via a virusscanner, before you start, if you want.

The carver who programmed this, is a professional carver and not a professional programmer,
so he use the .NET Framework, what is easy to use.
Some of the tutorials on my Site are written from him too.

I will upload some more photos today, i have installed the program on my privat PC. Now i'm at work where we have Win2k and there's no .NET 4.0 for this old version.

I downloaded the program with no problem. It works great for what it is.

I use a proportion wheel that I purchased from Larry Yutis a number of years ago. You just turn the dial to get the height of the carving and all the other proportion measurements show up in little windows.
