Default ehh my first ever try

well my first attempt ever lol... no pattern no reference picture just grabbed a knife n chisel and started chipping away ;/ im not finished yet but deciding what to do now. all i know carving is quite addicting

Looks like your off to a good start, I suggest you google the specie of turtle you want to carve and print off some referance photos.

I agree with Marci, that's a dang snapper for sure. If you wanna make it into a really cute little fella, round off the back a whole bunch. "we hate snappers" they eat all our young fishies. Otherwise, I'd say yer off to a good start.

thank you all! im gonna keep chippin away and see where i end up lol i'll keep ya posted and thank you for the tip on photos for reference.. ill do that from now on. i just wanted to see what would happen
