i was just woundering the best way iv heard of a few currently i put wax on the ends and lay them down in my shed outside is their a faster way (without causing cracks) Also is it a bad thing to stack them up on top of each other well laying down my desk does not have much room Andd does anyone know of a cheap way to make a maple clamp post since maple curls as it drys |

Arausio, 99% of the walking sticks I carve are maple saplings. I cut them a little longer than needed. Then I strip all the bark off of them(cause it's a lot easier then), I then bundle them up about 6 sticks to a bundle alternating the sticks end to end. Then I secure them together using nylon zip ties pulled tight. I use 4 or 5 ties on a bundle. This keeps them from bowing and if there is any splitting it is minimal. It works for me. Dick

Soo stacking them is acceptable i have many different types some wood i dont even know so far my favorite is Poplar because its so smooth debarked and the pure white to it i love i also have birch a one that seems to turn red and a few others im not to sure of But thank you this helps alot ill be sure to buy these zip ties |
