Default how do u get a 3 inch piece of bark?

hi im kinda new to wood carving. i was wondering how do u get this 3 inch thick bark? im not sure if this qustion is even in the right place. i hope it is.

A good source of cottonmood bark is Art Olver at artolver@comcast.net or call him at 253.804.3488. They don't call him the Barkman for nothing.

You can also find some really huge stuff from chipping away in Canada, they sell it by the pound.

I collect my cottonwood bark locally. While the really big pieces are rare, I get plenty of pices that are 2"-3" thick, 3"-4" wide, and 12"+ long.

Don't suppose you guys know of anything like that available in the UK do you? I keep seeing all these great bark woodspirits and I'd love to try them but I've never seen a tree with bark thick enough in this country
