Default Where do all the beginners go, and why?

Have been on this board for a number of years, under a couple of names. Long ago, beginners used to come aboard and stick around long enough so they were regular posters. Have notice lately that, they come aboard, ask a question, and disappear. Sure wish they'd stick around. New blood is always interesting.

Not enough time to post . to busy buying books tools bandages and trying to find wood, time spent staring at the wood trying to decide what cut to make next or how to fix the last oh no and where to hide the disasters or fabricate excuses for those that are to big to hide.............................and when you do get ready to post you find that your 2 gigapixel photos present an unflattering display of all the cuts and tears, blood stains and dirt misproportion, asymmetry and other qualities that blight the carving and assault the senses.
But..... once in awhile (every 10 years or so) a carving will turn out just so and the whole world will witness that moment of success. I promise to inflict myself on everyone

Bllood? You say "new" blood?" If "old" blood counts, I've spilled my share! Blood may be old but carver is still new, and I STILL have lots of questions after over a year! I'll be hangin' out 'till they kick me off!

Slow starter, but plugging away! Read all the new posts, no better place to learn from some terriffic people!

Time is a big factor for me! I can't find as much time to get on the computer, although I try to get on here every other day or so. I still consider myself a beginner...almost a year in....and I credit any advances I have made in my carving to this site and the people I have met on it.
I'm in the process of moving, but my first priority is getting my cable hooked up at the new house so I can check this web site.

Still here!
Blake

I read the posts almost daily, however I'm taken a bit of a hiatis from carving because we are finishing the lower level of our house.

But what little carving I've done even helps me with that, this morning I needed to putty a screw hole in the deep well of a window where the screen sits, My wife was wondering how I was going to get a putty knife in there. She was pretty impress when I grabed my utility knife and a popsickle stick.

So for all the info I've gained...Thank you

Jayson

I think many of us newbies are too busy reading to do much posting. I know that's the case for me. But I will post when I have a question that I can't find an answer for.
