I've heard good things about the easy share. It should come wiht most of what you need to hook into your computer...and a 4MP camera will do most of what you want. It will give you decent 4x5 photos, but if you blow them up any bigger than that and print them out, they will get grainy.

It is plenty big if you only want to post here on the message board...the photo we post here can only be 480 x 640 pixels, which is a relatively small file...

Hope this helps!

Maryjo,
I haven't used the Kodak, I'm stuck on Sony. Re: the magapixels, one of my Sons is a fashion photographer in NYC, so he knows cameras, and he says above 5 megapixels you won't be able to tell from a 35mm on enlarged photos unless you're doing huge enlargements.
Our last camera was 5.3MP. It got dropped by said Son! We replaced it with a 4.3 because it was so much cheaper at the time, and we're completely happy with it! We just use it to post pictures on our website for our weekly Auction, and to post on here. It was under $200, I believe. Our 5.3 was about $500 two years ago.
New ones are pretty cheap.

Hi maryjo, it would help if you gave the actual model number of the Kodak Easyshare camera, also the price as "retail" can be any number the seller wants to say..
Personally I don't think you can go wrong with Kodak (I have bought and used Kodak cameras for years) from what you say you want to do with it.
Just the price and model number will help with any further advise.

I have a Kodak Easy Share DX6490 , takes 4.0 magpix, and I love it. Simple to use and flexable enough for me. Any time I want better quality, I switch to my 35 mm.

I bought a Kodak Easy Share 5140, 5 megapixal with a 4000 docking station/printer. Everything came with it ot connect to the PC. What is neat is, one you don't have to use the PC to print pictures with the 4000 docking station/printer and, if you do connect it to the PC, you can down loar pictures that you already have on the PC to the dockingstaion/printer. So you can do abouit anything you want. You can go on vacation and take the camera and printer with you and print out your pictures while on vacation. The print package is a little steep at around $24 but you get 40 pictures with each package. Sam's have them for $22. The 5140 take great pictures and can't tell the difference from 35mm pictures or professional photos.

The price for the whole package, camera, printer and print package was on sale for under $300 before Christmas and suspect the price has come down.

Working in the shadows of Kodak tower(< than a mile away), I know that the company had been doing some major downsizing accross the world to focus on Digital. As they continue to tear down buildings here in Kodak park they have been redoubling their effort to take over the digital market and have been increasing there market share.

Since most companies are working there way up to 8 megapixel cameras I would suspect that all of the process will come down, adn since it is nearing christmas time I would suspect some sales have to be coming.

As far as the easyshare package goes I have heard nothing but satisfaction, however I do not own one yet. (Kinda waiting for the prices to drop on the 7 megapixel cameras)...
