Default Choosing the type of oil to Siberian driftwood

Sorry for the bad title .

Anywho, im really new to this Wood Carving and i first got the idea to this hobby when i saw many large siberian driftwood stocks at the seaside. I did not want it to just lay there unused, so thats how i got into this (and i LOVE it) .

But my real question is, i have carved some "pictures" into treated wood. The wood itself is bright and i want the carved pictures to stand out a bit from the rest. Im new so i have used a dremel multitool and "drilled" a figure into the wood, so the picture is not standing (out) from the wood if you know what i mean =). So what oil should i use, mayby some dark oil perhaps? And regular oil on the rest, if that is possible.

It is often necessary to highlight parts of a relief carving to make them stand out from the background (or vice versa). You can do this with wood stains (oil or water-based). You may need to seal the stop cuts around the different figures to keep the stain from bleeding into areas you want to keep light. There are some examples in my gallery.

Do you have some tips on how to seal the edge from the rest? And what is your prefered "color" to outline carved figures from a pale background?

Thank you for answering a newbie =)
