Question Carving table/board/platform

I've started carving bark and want to assemble a board like I saw in a caving video. It's a simple board with strips of wood on 2 sides plus one underneath which catches on the edge of a table.

I hoped to find some information here about a good size, etc but searching for "board" on a wood carving sight... you can imagine how many results there are to comb through.

So, what is this board called? Can anyone tell me what size they perfer for bark carving?

Hi, Butch!
It's called a bench hook. Here's a set of plans from Susan Irish:

That's kinda funny, I was just thinking I need to build me another one, because I can't find the one I had made. Will plan to build one tomorrow.

Talking Re: Carving table/board/platform

After a little research I decided to make my bench hook with a french-cleat on the bottom. I then carved a taper on the back of my carving bench to match the cleat. When not in use it hangs nicely out of the way No plywood here!
