Moose antler is easiest carved with a power carver, like a: Dremel, Foredom, Wecher, or such. The dust smells terrible and is quite dangerous, so best done outside, with plenty of dust protection. The antler material is actually hair, so that's why it smells so bad while you carve it.

i agree fuzzy ball [brurs] on a dremel works well small cutters meds, finish with sand paper it smells bad like burning hair u can cut with a jig saw or a saw carve it out or carve into it bone make nice pieces and its forever, u can glue it together with crazy glue it works well i'v made small spoons, carms for necklace-ear rings[angles, peace sighs,bears,birds,ect..] tobacco pipes of skulls[face ect'']and put auto brake light bulbs brass inside for liners, handles for pistols . it can be stain with food color or stains most of mine did in a clear oil, clear lacquer i like it because it will hold detail well. just some ideas .ps if u have to much of it send me sum bigest thing iv carved is hip bones from a cow don't have moose in va. have deers and cows moooven on take lite passes with a cutter it's right hard and can bind safe carvin to u post your work
