| | | Carving club around Nashville, TN I am a newbie to carving and was wondering if anyone knew of a carving club in the middle TN area. I am particularly interested in learning to carve wildlife since I am a hunting and fishing nut too.
Thanks for the feedback!

| | Re: Carving club around Nashville, TN Hi,
Just glancing through Chip Chats, I see a contact at Townsend, Tn at www.woodcarvers.com (800) 541-5994 and another at Pidgeon Forge with Bob Travis at 916) 758-5692 or rtravis@ucdavis.edu. .
Another contact would be at Johnson City where the show chairman is Sharon Chase at 423)282-5092 or scottray@usit.net
The Colwood site just lists two Tennessee clubs: Chattanooga Woodcarvers Club

| | | Re: Carving club around Nashville, TN Just so you all know, there is a wood carvers club that meets at Lieper's Fork, which is just outside of Nashville. I found Ol' Don's web site and he has this link in case there are other Nashvillians interested. http://artofdon.com/Club.htm They meet the first and third Saturdays of each month at 4231 Old Hillsboro Rd. at 9:00 a.m. I tried emailing Ol' Don, but the email was undeliverable. I'm not sure that the email address is correct.
Hope this helps someone else besides me.
Thanks for the replys!

| | Re: Carving club around Nashville, TN Ol' Don is on the road and his email is full, that is why you couldn't send to him, he said he dumped a bunch of junk email and had room if someone was trying to get mail to him...try him again. |

| | | Re: Carving club around Nashville, TN Danny, this is my first post on this forum so I hope I'm not too late to help you out. The carving club at Leiper's Fork, TN has some of the finest wood carvers you will ever meet in it. An old friend of mine, Vic Hood, is in this club and is one of the three best wood sculptures I have ever met in my life. (I have been carving for over 25 years and have travelled all over the world, so I have met a LOT of carvers!) I very strongly recommend that particular club.

| | | Re: Carving club around Nashville, TN Thanks guys! I am going to try and hook up with them after the first of the year. Christmas time is always nuts and I am swamped with work.
I looked at some of your web sites. Quite an inspiration. I hope I can learn to be half as good as you guys.
Thanks again!
