Default How to carve a chain

Anyone have a good link on instructions on how to carve a chain. I want to carve a few hearts linked together for Valentine's day and when I go to search it usually tells me how easy it is but not how to go about it.
I think I have some idea but if there are good instructions out there I'd love to look at them.

Layout the design so that the links are in loose contact or with space between. This will allow for your carving tools to work the area of contact. Often the links are at right angle to each other, but it would be interesting to make twisted links so each would be the same relative to the grain. Look in the whittling galleries for some ideas.
