Default Buying gouges

I was told that the Flexcut LH451 would be a good tool for me to use when cleaning the bottom of a wood mug. It looks like the tool isn't available from the flexcut website so I found it on MHCrafters.com 66 Flexcut LH451 Spoon Gouge 7/16" (11mm) - Power Handle (Long Handle) Tool
...has anyone brought anything from them and know if they are reliable?
Or if I will be happy with the tool I am buying?

I think you will be happy with this tool,I have a few Flexcut tools myself and am OK with them however for this type of wood removal I use scorps and hooks, just a personal preference.

I think it would be "ok" but I'd remove most of the material with a Forstner mit and use the tool to finish it off.

I have that same sweep but mine is Henry Taylor "short bent spoon gouge" that is the old school term for that tool. Ant no better tool to go deep except a 5" long burr on a die grinder.

I haven't bought anything from them for awhile, but when I have ordered from them they were reliable and easy to deal with.

Never bought from them myself. I have a similar tool from Denny and love it ! I have only used mine for spoons, mugs may need to be drilled first with a forstner bit?

Thanks for the help! I may end up getting a forstner drill bit as well. I have been using some sort of bit but it has a pointy tip on the end so it's not so nice to work with.
