Default Bust Carving

I would like to try bust carving and want to know if there are any classes out there to help me get the best start.

Realistic or caricature?

If you are not too far from Pigeon Forge, there's a woodcarving school in Townsend.

www.woodcarvers.com

Found the following on carving heads.... might be something that you are intested in. This book will not be available until April.

I interested in realistic busts. What school in Townsend is it that offers the bust class?

I linked Smoky Mountain Woodcarvers above. I don't know if they do busts specifically, but they are the closest school that I know about.

Most busts are clothed and so it is hard to tell if they are real or not. Especially if you are in CA

Greyhair, you don't know how many of us are staying away from this thread, knowing how much trouble we could get in to. I learned my lesson on the "how do you carve a sea gull" thread. Sometimes a little levity is appreciated, and sometimes it isn't.

Does anyone know where Jeff Phares will be teaching this year or if he has a web site?
