If you scuff up the part of the blade that goes into the handle with sandpaper, it can be securely glued with epoxy or CA (super glue).

Bill, Ethically speaking Flexcut (who BTW is pretty bad about poorly affixing blades into their handles) should make it good for you. Practically speaking if they won't just send you a replacement, you'd be out of a knife by sending it back. I have made many knives and other carving tools and regularly affix blades using 5min epoxy. Of some 25 or so (at last count) tools I've made using that method NONE have failed (yet) and some have been in service for several years now. Clean the blade tang after roughing it up a bit with either a file or bench grinder wheel (I like to put little notches in mine like fishhook barbs) using alcohol. Reset the blade and let it dry overnight to allow the epoxy to set completely. Works every time! L.P.

I contacted Flexcut when the blade fell out of my KN12 and their only offer was for me to send it back and wait for it to be returned. It only had a small spot of glue from the factory on the blade and I re-glued it with epoxy and no problems with it after putting plenty of glue on the blade.

Yep, happened to me too. A bit of Gorilla Glue, and it's been problem-free ever since. I didn't contact Flexcut, as I figured it wouldn't be worth my time, energy, and money to call them, package the knife, go to post office, pay for postage, wait for a replacement/repair to arrive, etc. That said, Flexcut _should_ be held accountable. So, if you've got the wherewithal, then go for it. S~

Good move Bill. Flexcut is a good beginner's knife and it's deffinitely a heavy duty creature, hard to break (with perhaps the exception of the handle falling off) but you'd be surprised at the world that will open up to you with a different knife. Check out some of the past posts with recommendations. You've got a lot to choose from.
