I have found some henry taylor chisels in a local store they said the handles were birch I was wanting to know if you can use a mallet on these handles or are they mybe beech wood

Shane, unless someone has changed the handles from original, (which is doubtful) they are beech. I believe, that is all Henry Taylor uses. The ones I have are beech. GOOD Carving, Brian
