Default 5 Min Wizard paint

I'm making my first 5 min wizard. I'm going to buy paint tonight. What kind of paint do I use?

Some kind of oxide paint (?) or oil. Not sure, but I want to use that antique solution that whittler on youtube.com uses. Anyone know that name?

Thanks everyone!!!!

Detailed discussion going on here;
Using washes on your basswood carvings

My favorite;
Rhadigan Painting

The last method does not seem to be widely accepted in the forum here lately but trust, there are thousands of folks using it.

Painting seems to be like those Motor Oil threads on car and motorcycle forums. Thousands of opinions.

The little bottles of Acrylic (like the Ceramcoat) are widely available at WalMart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, places like that, and quite inexpensive.

Oil paints are not so cheap. Yes, they go a long ways. But, your initial acquisition will tend to be expensive.
